Gautam gambhirs charges errupts ICC’s racist consideration

It was on the first day of the third test in delhi which saw high tension foulding out between the two teams. Gautam gambhir in great form and aussies in great frustration.

Watson and Gautam had a verbal clash in the middle session , soon after in the very next ball, gautam on his first run was proved by watson and on his second run he ran in to watson elbowing him out.

And here comes ICC to the rescue of the aussies, watson who provoked and created the whole drama was fined 10% of his match fee, where as Zaheer khan was fined 80% of his match fee, for his verbal words when mathew hayden got out in the second innings in mohali . Besides Katich who also had verbal abuses was never even warned by the referee chris broad.

Gautam gamhir’s level2 offence and his ban is justified by his physical action , but letting the aussies as if they are saints doesn’t look good . This action by the referee has brought in the senior indian crickets in action . Sunil gavaskar was the first one to react who had correctly predicted the action that ICC would take against gautam and nothing against the aussies . Cheatan cauhan was also with his displeasure of gambhir in great form and his ban is being laid by ICC . So is ICC harsh againgt asians .

Do you remember Virender Sehwag was given not out when everybody appealed and Ricky Ponting, the Australian captain, came from extra cover towards the umpire and kept on appealing . Now if that had been an Indian, the match referee would have taken him to task, fined him… This is where I think the ICC needs to actually get its act together.

And no one can ever forget Mike proctor , the great south african hero for aussies . The three umpires (third umpire included) gave 12 terrible decisions against Indian team, condemning them to defeat. India was playing against 14 players. Both Steve Bucknor and Mark Benson seemed like they were playing for Australia.
ICC’s love for australia is great …….keep it up ICC…u can

Ferrari threatens to quit

Ferrari has threatened that it may quit 2010 formula race if the standardization of engines is going to be implemented.

Standadization of engines does not enable the constructors to show their expertise in the machine and the results are based on the drivers capababilities

“The Board of Directors also examined the proposed changes to the Formula One regulations, in the light of the current global economic crisis.

“Whilst reiterating its wholehearted commitment to a substantial and needed reduction in costs in Formula One, starting with propulsion, the Ferrari Board of Directors expressed strong concerns regarding plans to standardise engines as it felt that such a move would detract from the entire raison of a sport with which Ferrari has been involved continuously since 1950, a raison d’etre based principally on competition and technological development.

“The Board of Directors expressed the opinion that should these key elements be diminished, it would have to re-evaluate, with its partners the viability of continuing its presence in the sport.”

Ronaldo wins FIFPro for the year

Cristiano Ronaldo has been named as the FIFPro World Player of the Year while English and Spanish football dominated the Team of the Season with only Kaka coming from Serie A. The Portuguese forward was honoured for his incredible season that saw him lead Manchester United’s push towards the title and the Champions League trophy against Chelsea in Moscow .

Cristiano Ronaldo insisted on Monday night that he is fully committed to Manchester United, although he was less than definite about whether he will be there next season.

Ronaldo flirted with a move to Real Madrid during the summer after an incredible 42-goal season which ended with Champions League glory.

But Sir Alex Ferguson refused point blank to sell his most valuable player, and the Portuguese winger was denied his dream move to the Santiago Bernabeu.Ronaldo’s on-field body language in recent weeks has led to speculation that he is already looking ahead to the summer and a possible escape from Old Trafford. And while the 23-year-old claims that he is fully focused on the Red Devils, he stopped short of swearing that he will remain at the club for the 2009-10 season.”I insist I’m a Manchester United player and now I think that I will continue here next year,” Ronaldo said in The Sun.

John McCain lost because of bush in any form

In the 2004 elections John McCain was beaten by George W Bush. In 2008 ironically, Bush isn’t running but his long and unflattering list of failed policies could be behind McCain’s downfall.

“McCain equals more of the same,” Obama had said in his Invesco victory speech.

Bush’s legacy is a shadow McCain has desperately tried to shrug off.

“Senator Obama, I am not President Bush. If you wanted to run against President Bush, you should have run four years ago,” said McCain during the final presidential debate at Hosftra.

With the lowest presidential approval ratings ever of 22 per cent according to a poll the flailing McCain campaign can do without an endorsement from Bush.

President Bush did not even attend the Republican National Convention but made a short speech via teleconference.

Governor Sarah Palin admitted in an interview over the weekend that President Bush’s unpopularity is the number one problem for the Republican presidential ticket.

Mystery behind the death of bruce lee

Facts

Lee died after falling into a coma. The coroner’s report was inconclusive, and medical authorities came up with five reasons for Lee’s untimely death. However, they all agreed that it was caused by a cerebral edema (a swelling of the brain caused by a congestion of fluid). But what caused the edema became a matter of speculation. For the most part, the course of events on that fateful July day in 1973 can be pieced together. According to Lee’s wife, Linda, Bruce met film producer Raymond Chow at 2 p.m. at home to discuss the making of Game of Death. They worked until 4 p.m., and then drove together to the home of Betty Tingpei, a Taiwanese actress who was to also have a leading role in the film. The three went over the script at Tingpei’s home, and then Chow left to attend a dinner meeting.

A short time later, Lee complained of a headache and Tingpei gave him a tablet of Equagesica kind of super sapirin. Apart from that, Lee reportedly consumed nothing but a couple of soft drinks.

Speculations

Thus, when Lee actually did die, speculation abounded as to the cause. The rumors ranged from Lee being killed by Hong Kong triads (gangsters) because he refused to pay them protection money – something that was common for Chinese movie stars to do at that time to his being killed by an angry martial artist’s dim mak (death touch) strike. Some people claimed Lee was cursed , he had just bought a house in Hong Kong that was supposed to be haunted or that he had died while mking love to actress Betty Tingpei, or that he had angered the Chinese martial arts community by teaching foreigners, and that he had been killed in a challenge match.

Mysterious death of Hitler

HITLER

On April 23, Hitler’s friend and Minister of Armaments, Albert Speer, arrived for his final meeting with the Führer. At this meeting Speer bluntly informed Hitler that he had disobeyed the Führer’s scorched earth policy and had preserved German factories and industry for the post-war period. Hitler listened in silence and had no particular reaction, much to the surprise of Speer.

That afternoon, Hitler received a surprise telegram from Göring who had already reached safety in Berchtesgaden.

My Führer!
In view of your decision to remain in the fortress of Berlin, do you agree that I take over at once the total leadership of the Reich, with full freedom of action at home and abroad as your deputy, in accordance with your decree of June 29, 1941? If no reply is received by 10 o’clock tonight, I shall take it for granted that you have lost your freedom of action, and shall consider the conditions of your decree as fulfilled, and shall act for the best interests of our country and our people. You know what I feel for you in this gravest hour of my life. Words fail me to express myself. May God protect you, and speed you quickly here in spite of all.

Your loyal
Hermann Göring

An angry Hitler, prompted by Bormann, sent Göring a return message saying he had committed “high treason.” Although the penalty for this was death, Göring was to be spared, due to his long years of service, if he would immediately resign all of his offices. Bormann then transmitted an order to the SS near Berchtesgaden to arrest Göring and his staff. Before dawn on April 25, Göring was locked up.

The final blow came on the 28th when Hitler received word via Goebbels’ Propaganda Ministry that British news services were reporting SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler had sought negotiations with the Allies and had even offered to surrender German armies in the west to Eisenhower. According to eyewitnesses in the bunker, Hitler “raged like a madman” with a ferocity never seen before. Himmler had been with Hitler since the beginning and had earned the nickname “der treue Heinrich” (faithful Heinrich) through years of fanatical, murderous service to his Führer, who now ordered Himmler’s arrest.

As an act of immediate revenge, Hitler ordered Himmler’s personal representative in the bunker, SS Lt. Gen. Hermann Fegelein, who was also the husband of Eva Braun’s sister, to be taken up to the Chancellery garden above the bunker and shot. Now, with the desertions of Göring and Himmler and the Soviets advancing deep into Berlin, Hitler began preparing for his own death.

Hitler and his wife Eva then bid a final farewell to Bormann, Goebbels, Generals Krebs and Burgdorf, other remaining military aides and staff members.Hitler and his wife then went back into their private quarters while Bormann and Goebbels remained quietly nearby. Several moments later a gunshot was heard. After waiting a few moments, at 3:30 p.m., Bormann and Goebbels entered and found the body of Hitler sprawled on the sofa, dripping with blood from a gunshot to his right temple. Eva Braun had died from swallowing poison.

As Soviet shells exploded nearby, the bodies were carried up to the Chancellery garden, doused with gasoline and burned while Bormann and Goebbels stood by and gave a final Nazi salute. Over the next three hours the bodies were repeatedly doused with gasoline. The charred remains were then swept into a canvas, placed into a shell crater and buried.

LAST WISH OF HITLER

I myself and my wife – in order to escape the disgrace of deposition or capitulation – choose death. It is our wish to be burnt immediately on the spot where I have carried out the greatest part of my daily work in the course of a twelve years’ service to my people.

Given in Berlin, 29th April 1945, 4:00 A.M.
[Signed] A. Hitler

Gillchrist calls sachin a liar and a bad sportsmen

Gillchrist in his autobiography has called sachin a liar and a bad loser. The comments have created some sparks between the media and the cricket fanatic lovers of both countries . Gillchrist has referred these comments saying that australia have a tendency to  play hard and leave things on the ground but some of the opponents are not like that.

sachin vs gilly

Gillchrist has also questioned the honesty of the indian player in the dramatic series in australia where in sachin had said he was not able to hear bhajji’s commenting on symonds as a monkey as he was far , but gilly finds it hard to believe .

Some indian media have questioned the time the release of such statements are being made ,australia was wipped off in the last match , india in a commanding position of 1-0 in the 4 match series with two more matches left.

It will be quite intresting how things will take around in the coming matches, and now the rivalry between india and pakistan has taken a back seat with australia being the front runner against india. ponting vs ishant , symonds vs bhajji , zaheer vs brett lee . hope a great  match is ahead.

Gillchrist apologises to sachin

Under fire from millions of cricket fans across the world, Adam Gilchrist apologised to Sachin Tendulkar over his “liar”, “dishonest” and “bad sport” remarks. Gilchrist called up Sachin Tendulkar today and said sorry. Gilchrist also said that his comments were taken out of context.

He assured the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar that he will soon issue a clarification on this issue. Earlier, Gilchrist had called Sachin Tendulkar a “liar”, “dishonest”, “loser” and a “bad sport” in his soon-to-be published autobiography “True Colors of My Life” over the Harbhajan-Symonds controversy. Gilchrist’s remarks created a furore in India and abroad, forcing him to apologise.

Barack Obama’s evolution

Meet Barack

Early Years

Barack Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4th, 1961. His father, Barack Obama Sr., was born and raised in a small village in Kenya, where he grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British.

Barack’s mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in small-town Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs during the Depression, and then signed up for World War II after Pearl Harbor, where he marched across Europe in Patton’s army. Her mother went to work on a bomber assembly line, and after the war,  moved west to Hawaii.

It was there, at the University of Hawaii, where Barack’s parents met. His mother was a student there, and his father had won a scholarship that allowed him to leave Kenya and pursue his dreams in America.

Barack’s father eventually returned to Kenya, and Barack grew up with his mother in Hawaii, and for a few years in Indonesia. Later, he moved to New York, where he graduated from Columbia University in 1983.

The College Years

Remembering the values of empathy and service that his mother taught him, Barack put law school and corporate life on hold after college and moved to Chicago in 1985, where he became a community organizer with a church-based group seeking to improve living conditions in poor neighborhoods plagued with crime and high unemployment.

The group had some success, but Barack had come to realize that in order to truly improve the lives of people in that community and other communities, it would take not just a change at the local level, but a change in our laws and in our politics.

He went on to earn his law degree from Harvard in 1991, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Soon after, he returned to Chicago to practice as a civil rights lawyer and teach constitutional law. Finally, his advocacy work led him to run for the Illinois State Senate, where he served for eight years. In 2004, he became the third African American since Reconstruction to be elected to the U.S. Senate.

Political Career

It has been the rich and varied experiences of Barack Obama’s life – growing up in different places with people who had differing ideas – that have animated his political journey. Amid the partisanship and bickering of today’s public debate, he still believes in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose – a politics that puts solving the challenges of everyday Americans ahead of partisan calculation and political gain.

In the Illinois State Senate, this meant working with both Democrats and Republicans to help working families get ahead by creating programs like the state Earned Income Tax Credit, which in three years provided over $100 million in tax cuts to families across the state. Senator Obama worked with law enforcement officials to require the videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases.

In the U.S. Senate, he has focused on tackling the challenges of a globalized, 21st century world with fresh thinking and a politics that no longer settles for the lowest common denominator. His first law was passed with Republican Tom Coburn, a measure to rebuild trust in government by allowing every American to go online and see how and where every dime of their tax dollars is spent. He has also been the lead voice in championing ethics reform that would root out Jack Abramoff-style corruption in Congress.

Whether it’s the poverty exposed by Katrina, the genocide in Darfur, or the role of faith in our politics, Barack Obama continues to speak out on the issues that will define America in the 21st century. But above all his accomplishments and experiences, he is most proud and grateful for his family. His wife, Michelle, and his two daughters, Malia, 9, and Sasha, 6, live on Chicago’s South Side.
